Obituary

John Weber, age 87, a resident of Belmont Village, Carol Stream, Illinois, died on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Central Dupage Hospital, Winfield, Illinois.  He was born August 15, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan to the late John and Mary Weber.

John grew up in Detroit, Michigan, is a World War II veteran and served in the reconstruction effort in Osaka, Japan.  Upon his return, he committed his life to the Lord, met and married his beloved wife, Ruth Walaskay in 1950 and started a family of two sons and a daughter.  His family has now grown to 9 grand children and 6 great grand children in addition to a large number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

During his life, John is remembered for his faithfulness to the Lord, his family, his wife and his job.  There are examples of giving and helping when he saw a need as well as for his willingness to serve in the church.  He will be remembered for raising a Christian family, being a hard worker, always seeing something that needed to be done and just doing it.  He leaves a lasting legacy of faithfulness, love and commitment.

He is survived by his wife Ruth, his children John Weber (spouse Linda),  Michael Weber (spouse Marna) and Marianne Thompson (spouse Shelton); grandchildren Tracy Seefried, Tricia Waineo, John Weber VI, David and Holly Weber, Shelton VI, Weston, Harrison and Trenton Thompson;  great grandchildren Jacob and Layla Seefried, Seth and Kathryn Waineo and Liliana and John Weber VII.

A memorial and celebration service will be held on Friday, December 16, 2016 from 4-5 pm at the Wheaton Bible Church Chapel in West Chicago, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Maranatha Bible and Missionary Conference , 4759 Lake Harbor Rd, Muskegon, MI 49441.
