John Toman, age 82, a resident of Carol Stream for 18 years, died Wednesday, October 26, 2011, peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was born July 25, 1929 in Berwyn.

John lived in Berwyn most of his life. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea in 1951 and 1952. He worked for 30 years as a mailman in Berwyn. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. In retirement he has worked for Walmart in Bloomingdale for the last 17 years.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Bernadine, one son, Tom (Peggy) Toman of Elburn, two grandchildren, and Nicholas and Sara.

A visitation will be held Sunday, October 30, from 2 to 7 pm at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton, where a funeral service will be held on Monday, October 31 at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery in Wheaton, Illinois.
