John Lyndon Rosenblad, 65, of Wheaton, Illinois, formally of Georgetown, Texas, went to be with the Lord on August 30, 2005. He was born September 14, 1939 in Georgetown, Texas.
Lyndon earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 1963 and went on to earn a M.S. in 1964 and a Ph.D. in 1970 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Lyndon joined Stone & Webster Engineering Corp. in 1970 and worked for 28 years in the Denver and Boston offices. While at Stone and Webster, he became Chief Geotechnical Engineer and a Vice President of the Civil and Transportation Company. An accomplished engineer, he provided engineering services in the U.S and abroad in all areas of geotechnical engineering. In recent years he had served as a senior consultant to Jacobs Engineering in Boston. He was a registered Professional Engineer in nine states.
Lyndon greatly valued his family. He was a generous and loving husband, father and grandfather and was a source of constant support, encouragement, and friendship to his wife and four children. His family greatly valued his strength and selflessness especially during his daughter Karen's long illness. In recent years, Lyndon and his wife Lois moved to Wheaton, Illinois, to be near their children and grandchildren. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, sports and playing with his grandchildren. He was a committed Christian and a man of great personal integrity. He was active in the Evangelical Free Church throughout his life. He was proud of his Swedish heritage, and although he lived in many places throughout the United States, he never forgot his Texas roots. Lyndon's life had a profound impact on his family and friends and he will be truly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Lois; three children, Cindy (husband Doug) Ambler, Brent (wife Jennifer) Rosenblad, and Janet Rosenblad; and five grandchildren, Emily, Abby and Drew Ambler, and Ben and Owen Rosenblad; and two siblings, Elaine Walker and Joan (husband Mel) Fratzke.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Rosenblad.
Visitation will be held Friday, Sept. 2nd from 6 to 8 pm at Gabriels Funeral Chapel in Georgetown, TX. A Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, Sept. 3rd at 2 pm at the Georgetown Evangelical Free Church. Internment will follow at Georgetown Evangelical Free Cemetery.
