Jack Carr, age 58, a longtime resident of Wheaton, passed away, suddenly at home on Friday, August 18, 2017. He was born April 16, 1959 in Chicago to John and Flo Carr.

A true south-sider through and through, Jack was born at Holy Cross hospital, went to grade school at Our Lady of the Snows and graduated from Curie High School in Chicago. He developed his love for carpentry from his father and nurtured his craft at the Washburn Trade School. He met Rose while working at Plan Corporation and they were married on August 28, 1992.

As a young adult, he enjoyed playing baseball and hockey and he continued to share that love with his grandson. A true Chicago sports fan, it would be hard to find a more loyal White Sox or Bears fan. He loved fishing and spending time at the family cabin in Paw Paw Michigan. The Beatles, Michael Jackson & Pink Floyd were a few of his favorites and were best enjoyed at full volume; no birthday would be complete without the Beatles "Birthday" blasting through the speakers. A history buff with a passion for cooking and gardening, he was quiet and reserved but loved nothing more than spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Rose Carr, daughters, Keri Johnson, Carly (Daren) Dasso and Rachael Carr, grandchildren, Sara, Anna, Eddie and Nikki, his parents, John and Flo Carr of Chicago and two sisters, Karen (John) Malyszka and Kathy (Jim) Kash, and six nieces and nephews, Matt, Jenny, Ryan, Ken, Kara and Jimmy.

A visitation will be held August 23, 2017 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton. A memorial mass will be held Friday, August 25th at 12:00 pm at Our Lady of the Snows Church 4800 S. Leamington, Chicago, IL 60638.
