It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Gritsonis, affectionately known as Long John, who went to be with the Lord on June 19, 2025.

John was a beloved figure in our lives, and although he lost his father early in life, John will be remembered for his warmth, humor, and unwavering love for family and friends. He cherished the moments spent with loved ones and created lasting memories that will forever be held in our hearts. John will be remembered for his deep commitment to helping others in business and personal relationships. John was also fond of spending time tinkering with repairs and working through problems. He was known as being able to fix anything. John was humorous and creative in his approach to life.

Loving father of Thomas, Cathy, Jim and Alec. Preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Katherine, son Alec and former wife Patricia. Survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends. John's spirit and kindness touched everyone he met, and his legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

The Visitation will be held on Monday June 30, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N Main St, Wheaton, IL 60187. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 11:00 AM at 601 S Central Ave, Chicago, IL 60644. The Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery in River Grove, IL, after the service.
