John Blair, age 73, a resident of Lisle, IL, passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2018, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, Illinois. He was born January 17, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois to Ellis D. and Mary "Marie" K (Barnickle) Blair. He married Rosalyn "Sue" M. (Weber) Blair on August 20,1966 in Peoria, Illinois.

John grew up in Wheaton, Illinois. He received his BS degree at the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana and an MBA from University of Chicago. He spent his career in health care management as VP of Resurrection Hospital in Chicago, IL VP of West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park, IL, and President of and CEO of Ravenswood Hospital, in Chicago, IL. He ended his career as Advocate Health Care Senior Vice President. During his years in health care he served on the Regional Policy Board 5 of the American Hospital Association, as Chairman of the Board of MCHC, as a Board member of HLS, and was RHMC Man of the Year in 1996.

John was very active in the churches he attended. He served as President of the congregation, as treasurer, and financial adviser. He worked part time for LCEF, and NID of the Lutheran churches. He had a passion for Mission and Ministry. He was most recently a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lisle, IL.

John enjoyed traveling, golf, serving as a mentor to young people entering the health care field, and volunteering. He volunteered in the Children's Garden at the Morton Arboretum, and as a conversation partner to visiting scholars and students, from China, Taiwan, and Thailand at Friendship House in Chicago,IL.

John loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and extended family. He was excited to introduce them to the many cultural opportunities of Chicago. He had a passion for the Arts and was an avid Cub's fan.

He is survived by his wife, Rosalyn "Sue" Blair of Lisle, Illinois; his two children, John Blair of Missoula, Montana, and Kirsten (Aron) Bernier of Stanley, New Mexico; 3 grandchildren, Abigail, William, and Madeline; and one brother, Robert (Rosemary) Blair, of Huntley, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ellis and Marie Blair; and a grandson Dillon.

A visitation will be held on Sunday October 21, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lisle, IL. A visitation will also be held on October 22, 2018 at 9:00 A.M. until the start of the service at 10:00 A.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church.
