Joanne "Joan" E. Schoenborn (née Palmer), age 79, a resident of Winfield, IL, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was born April 22, 1944, in Maywood, IL, to Charles and Florine Palmer as the oldest daughter of nine children.

In 1960, Joan met and married Frank Schoenborn. Soon after they started JFS Inc., Joan's quick wit, determination, and fiery spirit contributed to their success as one of the largest franchise organizations of Brown's Chicken & Pasta, with multiple locations throughout the Chicagoland area.

Joan also enjoyed gardening, baking, reading poetry, watching westerns, and spending quality time with her loving family.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Frank Schoenborn; her daughters, Sandra Price and Marianne (Dan) Veenstra; her grandchildren, Ralph Price and Kaitlyn Paschke, as well as her brother Rick Palmer, and her sister Linda "Lynn" Suppes.

A visitation will be held on Monday, September 25, 2023, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, with a time of sharing at 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, Wheaton. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery in Wheaton, Illinois. Afterward, there will be a celebration luncheon at Eddie Merlot's 28254 Diehl Rd, Warrenville at 1:00 p.m.

Memorial gifts may be directed to the Dementia Society of America or the Wounded Warrior Project . This charity was important to Joan, as she had multiple family members who served in the military.
