Joanna Golter, age 84, a longtime resident of Wheaton, went home to be with the Lord on Easter Sunday, March 27, 2016 at Wynscape Nursing Center in Wheaton, Illinois. She was born February 1, 1932 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania to Carl and Emma Weber.

Joanna grew up in Washington D.C. and graduated from Wheaton Academy. She attended Wheaton College. She raised seven children in Wheaton and Stanford University in California. From 1979 until 2000 she worked in the Physics and Biology departments at Wheaton College.

She was a member of Immanuel Presbyterian Church in Warrenville. She played the piano and served as a church organist.

She is survived by her children, Joanna (Norman) Roush of Sunnyvale, CA, Steve Golter of Elk Grove, Dave (Wendy) Golter of Wasilla, Alaska, John Golter of Bodega Bay, California, and Glenn Golter of Wheaton, fourteen grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two children, Doug Golter and Susan Golter, her parents and her brother, Phil Weber.

A visitation will be held on Friday, April 1st from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Hultgren Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Presbyterian Church 29 W 260 Batavia Road, Warrenville, IL. Friends may visit with the family prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery in Wheaton, Illinois.
