JoAnn Mueller, age 77, a resident of Wheaton, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, Illinois.  She was born June 27, 1941 in Staples, Minnesota and spent her high school years living in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. Joann attended Bemidji State University where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Education and later a Master's degree in Education from Lewis University.   She lived in Overland Park, Kansas for 23 years where she raised her family and formed many lifelong friendships until moving to Wheaton in 1986.

JoAnn was an elementary school teacher for over 35 years and had a strong passion for her students and their education.  She taught at Longfellow and Hawthorne Elementary Schools in Wheaton until retiring in 2010.  Women's Bible Study Fellowship and singing in the choir at College Church in Wheaton, where she attended, were meaningful to her. Recently she enjoyed being with her groups of friends who met for book discussions and knitting.

Her six grandsons were her pride and joy and she enjoyed attending their sports events and activities.

She is survived by her children, Alisa (Paul) Burkey of Libertyville and Kyle (Laura) Mueller of Wheaton, and 6 grandsons, Luke, Seth, Erik, Daniel, Ian and Xander and one brother, Jere Mossier.  She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ramona(Rapson) Mossier, and one brother, Kevin Mossier.

Services and interment will be held privately.
