JoAnn Evelyn, "Jo", remained young at heart from her home birth on October 18, 1946 in Erie County PA to David Philip and Lena Lucille (née Allen) Reno until her last breath on Wednesday morning October 14, 2020 in Douglas County CO. Surviving her are her daughters Jolena (John) Weisenfeld and Jocelyn (Doug) Hatfield, granddaughter Johanna, grandson Ben, sister Joyce (Howard) Botterill, and brother Dave (Joy) Reno.

In 1968 she graduated from Wheaton College and began teaching mathematics at Glenbard North High School. She and her husband, Thomas Mark Kovalik, were active members of First Baptist Church of Wheaton (now Highpoint) until his untimely death in 1995. Also preceding her in death are her brothers Martin and Charles Reno.

Friends and family remember her vivacious personality and all things pink. She loved doing Tupperware parties, bargain shopping, and attending Homecoming and reunions at Wheaton College for 50 years.
