Joan Christine Gothard Musil, 71, a resident of Geneva, Illinois, died November 5, 2013, at home, surrounded by her family who loved her dearly. She was born on April 4, 1942, in Hinsdale, Illinois, and attended Lyons Township High School and Butler University. She counted it the greatest career a woman could have to spend her life loving and caring for her husband, children, and grandchildren, and to serving her Savior, Jesus Christ. She is survived by her husband Ken Musil; and by her four children Ken (Katy) Musil, Debbie (Andy) Brigham, Laurie (Ian) Smith, and Kathie (Barry) Macdonald; and by her 15 grandchildren--Lindsey, Nathan, Ian, Noel, Abbie, Hannah, Emily, Noah, Rachel, Sarah, Andrew, Rebekah, Ethan, Ben, and Jacob. She will be remembered by all of her family as a woman of incredible wisdom, courage, patience, devotion, and love. Also surviving her are her two sisters, Anne (Gothard) Garvin and Laura (Gothard) Heiniger; and three brothers, Bill Gothard, David Gothard, and Stephen Gothard. She is deeply missed by all. Joan's memorial service was held on Friday, November 8, at the Institute in Basic Life Principles in Oak Brook, Illinois.
