James A. "Jim" King, age 72, a 40 year resident of Wheaton, died June 24th after a long struggle with cancer. He was born in Hendersonville, NC, on June 6, 1934.
Mr. King worked for the Dupage County Highway Department for over 30 years. He was an avid furniture restorer, who enjoyed making treasures for many people. He was well known for his kindness and generosity to his friends and neighbors, and he will be missed by many.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Barbara; his children, James R.(Michelle) King, and Sandra Kay (Robert) Curatola; his grandchildren, Jamie, Robert II, and Jessica Curatola; his brothers, William (Pauline) King, and Charles King; and his sisters, Mary Thompson, and Joanne (Bob) Stairs.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Tom King, and Frank King; and his nephew, Terry King.
A memorial service will be held from 3-9 P.M. on Wednesday, June 28th, at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main Street, in Wheaton.
