Jerome M. "Jerry" Kurr, age 75, a longtime resident of Wheaton, IL, passed away peacefully at home on July 8, 2025.  He was born September 28, 1949 in Chicago, IL to Leonard & Vivian Kurr.

Jerry spent the majority of his career at Motorola, eventually leading teams across the world in joint ventures, mergers, and acquisitions. Traveling for both work and pleasure, there are few places on the globe that he hadn't been to. Jerry delighted in new adventures and always regaled family and friends with hilarious and exciting stories. Always generous and always up for a good time, Jerry especially loved classic rock-- singing along, and frequently dancing with his wife. A lifelong reader, Jerry always had a book on hand as well as a pile of newspapers to catch up on. He enjoyed swapping books with his daughter-- often leaving notes for one another about the quality of a book's contents. Jerry's love of cars (he once got into trouble for flipping too many cars without a dealer's license) remained a constant in his life and he connected with his son-in-law over their shared love of fast cars.

He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Vickie; his daughter Torie (Connor) Kurr McChesney; his sister Janice (the late John) Fitzgerald; his brother Jonathan (Sandy) Kurr; and his mother-in-law Johna Brand.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law William Brand.

A visitation will be held  on Saturday, July 19 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, IL 60187.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to the American Heart Association .
