"Jenny" Dilla Virginia Thompson, 81, a resident of Sunrise Assisted Living in Glen Ellyn and formerly of Downers Grove, died Thursday, May 3, in St. Charles. She was born in Branchland, West Virginia on January 18, 1926.

Jenny was trained as an L.P.N. and later received a teaching degree in elementary education. In 1945 she married Dale R. Thompson while he served in the Marines. For many years they lived in Downers Grove where Dr. Dale Thompson had a Chiropractic Clinic. Jenny worked at the clinic along side her husband. As a family they attended the First Baptist Church of Downers Grove. In retirement they lived in Florida.

She is survived by three daughters, Karen D. (David) Baugh of Auburndale, FL, Diane V. (Ray) Matter of Wheaton, and Julie K. (Stephan) Strasser of St. Charles, eight grandchildren, Dale Baugh, Julie (Darren) Chapman, Sara (Dave) Morehead, James and Elizabeth Matter, and Michael, Stephanie and Christina Strasser, five great-grandchildren, Tyler, Aubrey J., Megan, Madison, and Mackenzie, one brother, Jennings C. (Helen) Triplett and two sisters, Ruth McCallister and Margaret (Henry) Reger.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 2004 in Auburndale, Florida, and two sisters, Regina Maynard and Betty Olson.
