Jenny L. Cochennour, age 65, a resident of Aurora, and formerly of Diamond, IL and Wheaton, IL, died Saturday, September 2, at Mercy Hospital in Aurora. She was born October 27, 1940 in Decatur, IL.
She was formerly an active member of Gary Memorial United Methodist Church where she served as a director of the Choir and the Handbell Choir. She was an avid reader and enjoyed football, especially the Chicago Bears. She loved her cats. She taught Music at Central High School in Newark, NJ and substitute taught in the Wheaton schools for a number of years.
She is survived by her three children, Glen (fiance' Amanda) Johnson of Naperville, Matthew (Kiersten) Johnson of St. Charles, Shauna (Bruce) Berman of Oswego; three grandchildren, Ethan and Kyle Johnson, and Samantha Berman; former husband and friend, Craig Johnson of Newark, NJ; her sister, Becky (David) Baker of Decatur; and her step-mother, Cordelia Cochennour of Chenoa, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Betty Cochennour.
A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 6, from 4-8 P.M. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton. Interment is private.
