Jeannine Kallal, age 86, a resident of Wheaton, IL, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026. She was born January 28, 1940 in Chicago, IL to George & Aureola Sheldon.
Jeannine graduated from Miami University (Ohio) in 1961 and then went on to complete her Masters degree from Indiana University in 1963.
Jeannine was an excellent genealogist and used her skills toward helping lineage societies gain members. She was involved in numerous organizations: served as the President General for Guild of Colonial Artisans & Tradesmen, National Society Women Descendants of Ancient & Honorable Artillery Company, National Huguenot Society and National Society Descendants of Early Quakers. She also served as the State Corresponding Secretary & District 4 Director for the Illinois Daughters of the American Revolution.
Jeannine wrote 2 books in conjunction with her lineage society activities – Register of Qualified Huguenot Ancestors in 2012, and Genealogical Data of the Ancient & Honorable Artillery Company in 2017.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, George; her sister in law June (the late Andrew) Scott; and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers William & James (the late Janice) Sheldon; and her sister-in-law Bonnie (the late John) Pollock.
A visitation will be held at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, IL 60187, on Thursday, March 19, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton, Illinois.
