Jeanne Marian Kellough passed away on Monday afternoon, October 30, 2017, at her new home (as of April, 2017) in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, at Brookdale Senior Living. Prior to her recent move to Glen Ellyn, Jeanne lived in Charlevoix, Michigan, and Tucson, Arizona.

In Chicago, Illinois, on July 23, 1928, Jeanne was born of her parents William and Jeannette Irwin. Jeanne was the firstborn of four children with siblings Billy, David, and Deanne.

Jeanne along with her brothers and sister grew up in Maywood, Illinois, where Jeanne attended elementary school and graduated from Proviso High School in 1946. In April of 1947, Jeanne married Berner Kellough, "the boy next door" to her home on 19th Avenue in Maywood. Berner's career as an attorney and law enforcement officer included serving as Maywood's chief of police in the 1960s.

Jeanne was a "stay at home mom" until returning to school at Elmhurst College and graduating with a degree in education in 1967. She considered her 26-year teaching career in Villa Park as pure joy. It was clear to Jeanne and all of her students at High Ridge School and Jackson Junior High that she was born to be a teacher.

Jeanne and Berner were married for 53 years until Berner's passing in November of 2000. In retirement and after her husband's passing, Jeanne and her son, Terry, enjoyed summers in Michigan and winters in Arizona.

Jeanne is survived by her brother William (Dorothy), brother David (Joan), sister Deanne, son Stephen (Linda), son Terry, grandson Jeffrey (Sheralynn), and great-grandtwins Luke and Brielynn.
