Jean Catherine Nicodem of Glendale Heights, IL passed away on Friday, August 3, 2018 after a 2-year battle with cancer at the age of 76.  She was born in Vancouver, British Columbia on November 15, 1941 and was the second of Neil and Marion Murdoch's three daughters.

After completing Bible College in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan, Jean went with Wycliffe Bible translators to work as a missionary in Mexico City.  She later moved to the United States where she raised her two children and worked for Scripture Press publishing company and The Evangelical Alliance Mission.

She has always been an active church member beginning as a child at Faith Baptist Church in Vancouver.  As she was raising her children, she was highly invested in Calvary Community Church of Schaumburg, IL and after moving to Glendale Heights, IL has been active at First Baptist (now Highpoint) of Wheaton, IL for more than a decade.

Jean loved gardening, hiking, and spending time with her friends and family.  She found great joy in being with her two children and three grandchildren.

Jean had a strong faith in Jesus Christ and trusted Him as her Savior and friend.  Her trust in Him and in the hope of heaven remained constant throughout her life.

She will be dearly missed and is survived by her son, Frank Nicodem, III (Lyndsey), her daughter Jennifer Nicodem, her sisters Edith Murdoch and Irene McNab (James), her grandchildren, Ashlyn, Micah, and Levi Nicodem. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church/Highpoint Church in Wheaton (1310 N. Main St. Wheaton, IL 60187) on Wednesday, August 8 ^th from 4pm-8pm and the funeral service will be held at First Baptist/Highpoint Church in Wheaton on Thursday, August 9 ^th at 11am followed by a 12pm lunch.
