Jean K. Ehren, age 94, a resident of Windsor Park Manor in Carol Stream, died Saturday, February 11, at Windsor's Johnson Healthcare Center. She was born January 9, 1912 in Cleveland, OH.
Jean moved a number of times as a youngster, living in Cleveland, OH, Charleston, SC, and Memphis, TN, before moving to Wheaton. She earned her bachelor's degree from Milwaukee Downer College in 1933. She was married in 1935 to Walton at First Baptist Church in Wheaton where she was an active member. She was also a member of the Eastern Star and a volunteer with the Central DuPage Hospital Auxiliary. While living in Dixon, Ill., she volunteered at the boyhood home of Ronald Reagan.
She is survived by her son, David (Jean) of Oak Forest; six grandchildren, Becky (Scott) Cavey, Jenny (Jeff) Johnson, Carol (Keith) Wilson, Jonathan (Kumi), Christine, and Michael; five great-grandchildren, Jessica and Jeremy Johnson, Emma Wilson, Connor Cavey, and Joshua Ehren; her brother, C. Drexel (Joan) Kaminsky; and her daughter-in-law, Barbara Ehren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Walton; her son, Kenneth; two brothers, Jack and George Kaminsky; and her sister, Tutie Kaminsky.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 14, from 3-8 P.M. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 15, at 10:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church, 1310 N. Main St., in Wheaton. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery.
