Obituary

Jean Ann MacRae was born December 3, 1929 in Paterson, New Jersey to David and Anne MacRae. She trusted Christ as her Savior at age 13. She dedicated her life to Christ and served Him throughout her life. She graduated from Moody Bible Institute in 1953 and later earned a AA in library science from COD. She served as field representative for Pioneer Girls in Michigan. Jean met Fred Dickason at Moody and they married in 1958 and moved to Dallas where she introduced Pioneer Girls to the Southwest. The Dickasons moved to Carol Stream in 1961 when Fred started teaching at Moody Bible Institute. She served on the Carol Stream School Board, was awarded Citizen of the Year Award, and worked at the Carol Stream public Library for 15 years. She served on the board of Pioneer Girls, taught Sunday School and neighborhood Bible classes. The Dickasons moved to Windsor Park in 2007. Jean suffered from Alzheimer's disease, but remained active for many years. After three weeks in nursing care, she succumbed to the illness on February 22, 2014.

She is survived by her husband, Fred; son, David; daughter, Debi (Peter) Kisluk; three granddaughters, Grace, Ella, and Audrey; brother Bob (Marilyn) MacRae; nephews David (Judy) and Bob (Pam) MacRae; and niece Linda (Fred) Gray and many great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her brother David and her parents.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25, from 3 until 8 p.m. at the Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 26, at 10:00 a.m. at the Wheaton Evangelical Free Church, 520 E. Roosevelt Rd. in Wheaton. Interment will be held at 2:30 at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois.
