IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jean
Arzaga
January 29, 1977 – December 25, 2024
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Jean Arzaga, a resident of Glendale Heights, IL on Christmas Day, December 25, 2024 at the age of 47. Born on January 29, 1977 in Bangui, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, Jean was a free spirit that brought many memorable moments to all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Jean was the daughter of Anacleto Hilario Arzaga and Emelita Acido. She was preceded in death by her father, Anacleto Hilario Arzaga. Jean is survived by her children A.J. Embradura, Alexis Arzaga, Jewel Busuego, Lily Busuego; devoted mother, Emelita Acido; her loving sisters Analyn Arzaga and Novelyn (Jomar) Arzaga Tapia; and her nieces & nephews Ivy Drake, Miles Ferolino, Rome Tapia, Liam Tapia, Nyla Tapia, and Jovy Tapia. Each of them carries a piece of Jean's vibrant spirit, and her memory will forever live on in their hearts.
Growing up in the Philippines, Jean loved to fish and took pride in her catches and enjoyed hiking in the mountains. She was family-oriented and devoted her free time to taking care of relatives. Jean's educational journey began at Banban High School before moving to the United States with her family in 1990 at the age of 13. Jean held various positions, including a data entry clerk at Symbol Technologies, a receptionist at a skilled nursing facility, and ultimately a certified nursing assistant (CNA) at Harbor House memory care facility. Her friendliness and warm care made her a beloved figure among the facility's patients.
Jean's hobbies reflected her joyful nature; she had a passion for knitting, cooking, collecting vintage clothing, and singing- most memorably during karaoke. Jean had an innate ability to entertain others with her outgoing and spontaneous personality. Despite the hardships that life presented, Jean never wavered in her optimistic outlook. She was diagnosed with stage 3 chronic kidney disease in 2013. Jean's resilience was one of her greatest strengths that allowed her to stay positive while enduring the pain. Tragically, Jean's life was cut short due to a stroke, but her legacy will continue through the countless lives she impacted with her unique personality.
A visitation will be held in her honor on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service 11:00 AM at Hultgren Funeral Home, 565 Randy Road, Carol Stream, IL 60188. The service will be livestreamed here: Funeral Service for Jean Arzaga . Interment will follow at Mt. Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst, Illinois. We encourage those who knew Jean to come together to celebrate her life and the cherished moments she left with us.
