Janet A. Spayth, age 79, a resident of Wheaton, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025.  She was born March 2, 1946 in Oak Lawn, IL to John and Virginia Fett.

She grew up in Evergreen Park, IL and was a graduate of Evergreen Park High School.  She then attended Illinois State University, was married in 1969, and started her family soon thereafter.  She held many jobs over the years, but none more important to her than Mother and Grandmother.  She loved to spoil her grandchildren.  She attended their various sporting events and activities, snuck them treats when their parents were not looking, and was always up for sushi.  She enjoyed gardening, attending shows with friends, hated bananas, had a sharp sometimes sarcastic sense of humor, and loved her dogs (Max, Milo, and Miles) dearly.

She is survived by her sons Guy Spayth, Jr (Amy) and Greg Spayth (Julie); daughter Jorie Fanter (Nate); grandchildren Robby, Sara, Caroline, Molly, Ryan, Morgan and Ellis; and her younger brother John (Janet) Fett.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy; her parents; and her older brother Fred "Fritz" (Lynn) Fett.

A private interment will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois.
