Janet R. Johnson, a resident of Wheaton, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022.  She was born June 1, 1935 in Chicago to Edgar & Gertrude Roberts. During her grade school years, she lived in the Englewood area of Chicago. After attending high schools in Illinois and Michigan, she attended the University of Michigan.

At Michigan, she was reunited with a life-long friend, Terry Johnson. They were married in her senior year and stayed in Ann Arbor while he completed his graduate degree. Employed by Argonne National Laboratory, they lived in Glen Ellyn and Wheaton for over 60 years where they raised 4 children, Kenneth, Martin, Karen and Jennifer.

Janet loved the water and was an avid swimmer. She did water ballet, was a competitive Master Swimmer, and then for 30 years she and Terry traveled to the Caribbean and Pacific to scuba dive.

For the last 10 years, she and her husband have lived in Wyndemere. She was active in several areas and was widely known for her friendly, welcoming personality.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Terry; her children Ken (Jackie) Johnson, Karen Johnson & Jennifer Johnson; her grandchildren Noah Johnson, Jacob Bennett, and Juliana and Daniel Kraft; and her sister Nancy (the late Rodney) Antrim. She was preceded in death by her son Martin and her parents.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at Wyndemere.
