Janet Brandseth, age 60, a resident of Wheaton for 28 years, died at home on Thursday, March 9. She was born on November 27, 1945 in Chicago to Albert and Iris Rydahl.
Janet was an active volunteer for the Center For History in Wheaton for 16 years. She served as a member of the board of directors and received numerous awards for her dedication. She was also an active member of St. John Lutheran Church where she volunteered in the school library. Additionally, she enjoyed participating in a local quilt group.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Thomas, two children, Michelle (Erik Brejla) Brandseth of Batavia and Matt (Tiffany Krabel) Brandseth of Los Angeles, CA, and one grandson, Addison Brejla. Preceding her in death were her parents and one brother, Bruce Rydahl.
A visitation will be held on Monday, March 13, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton. Funeral services will be held at St. John Lutheran Church, Main and Seminary St. in Wheaton on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be held privately.
