James W. Pohlman, age 77, a resident of Wheaton, passed away, Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at home. He was born April 2, 1944 in Palatine, Illinois to Victor & Dorothy Pohlman.

Jim, who is a huge Bears and Notre Dame fan, married the love of his life on November 24,1973 and had their beautiful daughter two years later. Jim was a devoted husband and father who coached softball, and enjoyed being "Big Snowman" in Indian Princesses. His favorite thing to do was spend time with his family. His proudest moments were seeing his daughter graduate from St. Mary's College, walk her down the aisle, and hold his precious granddaughter for the first time. Any moment he could spend with Sophie, he was happy. They loved to fish and plant their garden every year. He loved golfing with his "son", Norm. Jim loved to travel with Barb and "the kids" to Hilton Head, Door County, Marco Island, Hollywood Beach, and Disney World. He never missed any part of his "kids" lives.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 48 years, Barbara; his daughter Kim and "son" Norman Meske; and his granddaughter Sophie Meske.

A visitation will be held Saturday, July 3, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. until time of a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, Illinois 60187. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery.
