Dr. James D. Paradowski, DDS, age 72, passed away, Thursday, March 3, 2022. He was born May 10, 1949 in Chicago to Thaddeus & Charlotte Paradowski.

A native Chicagoan born and raised, known to friends and family as "Big Jim", "Doc" and "Papa P."  Jim was a great storyteller and had a sense of humor like no other.  He was a graduate of Weber High School '67, Loyola University '72, and Loyola University Dental School '76.  He owned and operated a successful dental practice in Bloomingdale for over 40 years.  Jim belonged to Rotary Club, a dental fraternity, and was a member of the local VFW and the Elks Lodge.  He enjoyed vacationing - especially to tropical destinations, cooking - particularly "Papa P's Peppers" aka giardiniera and Polish sausage, watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, placing small bets on Football and was an avid salt and pepper shaker collector.  He loved to spoil his grandchildren and was loved by many family and friends.

He is survived by his children Carolyn (Dominic) Capobianco, James (Teresa) Paradowski Jr., and Michael (Stephanie) Paradowski; his three grandchildren Joseph, Matthew & Emma Paradowski; his brother Dennis (Colleen) Paradowski; his sister Letitia (Don) Johnson; and numerous nieces & nephews. Also survived by his step-sons and his former wives Maria & Penny.

He was preceded in death by his wife Cheryl Ridlen-Paradowski, DDS, and his parents.

A visitation will be held Friday, March 11, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, where a funeral service will be held at Saturday, March 12, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton.
