Obituary

James Francis Mulvey, age 64, a resident of Warrenville, IL, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 24,2014. He was born in Chicago, IL on May 3,1950 to John Joseph and Mary Elizabeth Mulvey, nee Callan.

Jim grew up in South Chicago and loved playing baseball. He was an altar and choir boy at St. Gabriel Church on 45th and Lowe Ave. He attended Christian Brothers University in Memphis, TN where he enjoyed track, boxing, singing, and playing his 12 string guitar. He transferred to University of La Verne in CA where he studied business. Shortly after, he played baseball for the New York Mets minor league club. He was also a teacher/counselor at the Mountain Center school in CA. He was an assistant manager at K-mart and later became a territory manager for Neuville Spaulding Inc. sock company in CA. He then worked as a manager for HUD housing in NY. His last occupation was an accountant at Chase Bank in South Elgin, IL.

Jim enjoyed athletic activities,dancing, telling jokes, and conversing with people. He was an avid White Sox fan and enjoyed watching all sports, as well as, baseball. Jim also enjoyed interacting and was very proud of all of his children. The joy and light he brought to our lives will always be remembered. He is greatly loved and will be greatly missed but never forgotten. Jim, Dad, we love you.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa Rose Ashleman; his children, Skipper, Brian Michael, James Francis Jr., Paul Matthew "Buck", John Michael, Patricia Catherine Sarah Rose, Timothy Daniel Patrick, and Peter Isaac Joshua George. He is also survived by his brother Michael; his sister Elizabeth Waldorf; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Agnes Mulvey, nee Shehee, and Peter and Catherine Callan, nee Howe. He was also preceded by both of his parents; his step-grandfather, Cy Holmes; his sisters, Patricia, Margerite, Jeanne, Marianne, and Denise; and his brother, John.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton, IL from 2-6 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 30th, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wesleyan Missionary Church , 5656 W. 64th Street, in Chicago, IL, with Pastor Thomas E. Reed officiating. Interment will be private.
