Obituary

James V. Leffler, age 52, a resident of West Chicago, IL, went to be with the Lord after a six month battle with colon cancer on Saturday, November 15, 2014.  He was born October 22, 1962 in California to Reg and Joanne Leffler.

Jim was raised in Thousand Oaks, California and was recruited by J.R. Bishop to play football at Wheaton College which began a lifelong passion for Wheaton football.  He could be seen at every football game, led the effort to obtain the new scoreboard and traveled with the team on two mission trips to Africa. He loved sports and coaching young athletes, from tee-ball to Wheaton Academy football.

His love for people led him to a career in sales in which he excelled.  He worked for Grainger and for the last 13 years at Kent H. Landsberg. Jim brought life and laughter to all occasions and could make anyone feel special and loved.

Jim's confident faith in Christ was evident in his work, home and neighborhood. Most of all, he loved spending time with his wife and children.

He is survived by his wife, Heidi Leffler, three children, Brian, Rachel and David, his father, Reg, two brothers, Bill (Debbie) and David, two sisters, Janet (Kelly) Reid and Nancy (Jim) Duccini, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Joanne and one sister, Julie Meuth.

A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, November 21, at 1:00 p.m. at Wheaton Bible Church, 27W500 North Ave, West Chicago, IL 60185. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
