Obituary

Jim Lambert, age 50, a resident of Glen Ellyn for 18 years, died Tuesday, July 27, at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. He was born on February 12, 1960 in Kankakee to Robert and Dolores Lambert. He was united in marriage to Patricia Bonato on March 5, 1994.

Jim graduated from Hersey High School in Arlington Heights and Triton College in River Grove. He was a lab technician in the dental industry and later was a sales representative. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Jim's children, Becca and Jack, were his life. He helped coach several of their teams and loved to watch their games, even when sick. Jim was a devoted dad, husband and brother. He was the epitome of a good Samaritan and would help people in need, especially in his neighborhood.

In Jim's younger days, he lived for Motocross racing and won many trophies. He also enjoyed golf, music and sports , fishing trips up to Minnesota's Ten-Mile Lake with the guys, snowmobiling in Wisconsin, and Indy car racing. Jim took great pride in his home, his yard and especially his garden. He was a true example of living life to the fullest and loved to have fun; he often was the life of the party with his pranks and one-liners.

He is survived by his wife Patty, two children, Rebecca and Jack, one brother, David (Kathryn) Lambert of McHenry, and one sister, Barbara (Joe) Geisler of Kankakee, and several nieces and nephews. Jim will be deeply missed by his family and many friends. We love you, Jimmy.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 29 from 3 to 9 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton. Prayers will be held on Friday at 11:15 a.m. with a mass following at St. James the Apostle Church in Glen Ellyn. Interment will be held at a later date.
