James Michael Harrell's Obituary
James Michael Harrell, age 57, passed away on Friday, January 8,2010 at his
home in Wheaton, IL after a courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). Jim
was born in Emporia, KS on June 7, 1952. He was a graduate of Emporia High School
and the University of Kansas and continued his education by receiving a MBA from
DePaul University. He worked for Santa Fe Railroad from 1974 to 1992, Illinois Central
Railroad from I992-1999 as Vice President of Labor Relations and Human Resources. In
1999, Jim started his own business, James M. Harrell and Associates, in Wheaton, IL.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents Allen and Edna Harrell. He is survived by his
loving family: wife Linda (Nelson); sons Michael and Matthew; daughters Lindsey and
Sarah; and sister Wanda Eldridge & two nieces. He will be remembered as a great
husband and father, but most of all, a servant to King Jesus.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 14 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Wheaton Bible Church, 27W500 North Ave., West Chiago, IL 60185. A funeral service will be held Thursday evening at 7 p.m. at the church. Interment will be held privately at Wheaton Cemetery.
