James M. Hall, age 95, died April 23, 2021. He was born June 7, 1925 in Chicago to James & Gladys Hall.

Jim spent his early childhood in Chicago. He resided at Glenwood School for Boys in Glenwood, Illinois through his teen years. He joined the Navy in 1943 and served as a Seaman 1st Class during World War II. After his service in the military he met Ruth Henrikson and the two were married on November 26, 1949. Jim cherished their 61 years of marriage until Ruth's death in 2011. Jim graduated with a Master's of education degree from Northeastern University and taught at Mason Upper Grade Center in Chicago from 1967-1986. Jim & Ruth lived in Lombard for over 30 years, where they were members of Lombard Bible Church. In retirement they moved to Lake Thunderbird, Illinois where they attended Willow Springs Mennonite Church. In recent years, he lived in Homer Glen, Illinois and attended Parker Road Bible Church. Jim was a lifelong student of the Bible, teaching Sunday School and studying Hebrew & Greek. He was member of the Gideon's International, an organization that distributes Scriptures in strategic locations so they are available to those who want them. He taught country line dancing to seniors and served as a security officer at Lake Thunderbird. He received the Gallery of Ageless Acheiver's award from Western Illinois Area Agency on Aging and served on the board of directors for Putnam County Achievement services.

He is survived by his eight children: Jonathan (Marlene), Timothy, Ruth (Al) Hurrell, Judith (Robert) Slattery, Susanna (the late Gary) Steilen, Daniel (Gerry), Miriam & Jeremiah Hall; his 13 grandchildren & seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; his daughter Elizabeth McClain; his two sisters Juanita Slawson & Peggy Rose Rizley; and his parents.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, April 27, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Hultgren Funeral Home , 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, IL 60187, on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery.
