James A. Graham, age 95, a resident of Wheaton, IL, formerly of Moline, IL, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2023.  He was born April 1, 1928 in Howard County, IN to Charles & Bertha Graham.

He was raised on a farm and graduated from Clay-Howard School in 1946. He received both a bachelor's degree ('51) and a master's degree ('53) in agricultural engineering from Purdue University. Professionally, James had a remarkable career with John Deere, where he served in many positions as an engineer including Director of Reliability. He retired from the Technical Center in 1987 after 35 years of service.

James had a passion for gardening and was known for his exceptional skills in cultivating roses. He was an amateur astronomer and enjoyed viewing the stars and planets through his telescope. He enjoyed being outside, woodworking and sharing his passions with others.

James was an active and valued member of the Rotary in Moline for many years where he was committed to serving others while enjoying fellowship among other professionals and community leaders. He also served several years on the City of Moline Planning Commission. James was an active member at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Moline where he served the board of elders, the education committee, and the building committee in the late 60s.

He is survived by his children Marilyn Graham & Charles (Ellen) Graham; his daughter-in-law Rebeca Graham; his grandchildren James (Vanessa) Graham, Abigail Graham & Julia (Robert) Guest; his great-granddaughter Paulina Guest; his siblings Ruth (the late George) Anderson, Robert (the late Kathyrn) Graham, Paul (the late Peggy) Graham, & Sue (the late Arlyss) Sheffield. Also survived by numerous stepchildren, step-grandchildren, and many nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his three wives: Julia, Helen & Velma; his son Michael; his grandson George Graham; his siblings Mary (the late Art) Christenson, Edna (the late Frank & the late Donald) Jackson, William (the late Patricia) Graham, Esther (the late Bill) Givens, John (the late Margaret) Graham, & Norma (the late Cloid) Windmiller.

A visitation will be held at St. John Lutheran Church, 410 N. Cross, Wheaton, IL 60187, on Saturday, August 5, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 a.m.
