James V. Eyre, born in 1939, passed away in Wheaton, Illinois on September 21, 2022.

He leaves behind Diana, his wife of 60 years; his niece Debra & her family; several cousins; and two sisters-in-law & their families. He was preceded in death by his parents, James W. & Catherine Eyre and his sister Shirley & her husband.

Jim was born in Aurora, Illinois. He attended school in Oswego, Illinois where he graduated from high school. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in English education from the University of Illinois where he was a member of the Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity. He continued his studies at Northern Illinois University where he graduated with a master's degree in education. He taught English at the junior high level for 15 years before joining his wife in the antiques business. Their shop, Prairie House Antiques, was part of the founding group of dealers at Sign of the Whale in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. For over 50 years they sold antiques at shows in the Midwest and in northern California. They traveled extensively throughout the United States and the United Kingdom purchasing items for their business and personal collections. Jim was an active member of the Chicago Suburban Antiques Dealers Association and served as president.
