James E Ean, age 69, a resident of Wheaton, IL, passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2018, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL. He was born August 2, 1949 in Cambodia.

He had to work hard from a very young age to help support his family. While working as a hired tractor driver, James met his wife, Phan. They married in 1973. James and his family escaped the Khmer Rouge regime and came to the United State in 1985. James was a hard working family man who loved fishing, music, working with his hands, watching Cambodian kick boxing, and enjoying meals with family and friends. James was sick for a very long time but is now at peace with the Lord.

He is survived by his wife, Phan Svay; three daughters, Yean Elizabeth Ean of Wheaton, Samantha Sambath (Morgan) Moore of Warrenville, and Mary Sokphal (Jon) Monette of Carol Stream; two grandsons, Milo Dara Moore and Ezra Dayvi Moore; and his sister, Ty Som.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Dara Chanta Ean, and two sisters, Aim Som and Yoeun Som.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until the start of a funeral service at 9:30 a.m. at River Glen Presbyterian Church , 1140 Raymond Drive, in Naperville, IL. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery in Wheaton, IL.
