James E. Davidson Jr., 62, a resident of Wheaton, Illinois, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2016 in his home. He was born on December 27, 1953 in Oak Park, Illinois.
Jim worked as a Professional Land Surveyor, and was a member of the Illinois Professional Land Surveyor Association.
Jim lived in Lisle, Illinois during his preschool years, then moved to Glendale Heights until graduating High School. While studying to become a Professional Land Surveyor, Jim and Pat dated and were married on September 18, 1982 in Lisle. The couple lived in Glendale Heights prior to moving into their Wheaton residence, where their two children Valerie and James were born and raised. Jim and Pat worked together to renovate the house where he would live the rest of his life.
The family loved vacationing in the North Woods, where they enjoyed fishing, boating, swimming and hiking. Other family vacation destinations included Florida, California, Arizona and North Carolina. Weekends during the school year were filled with attending children's sporting events including soccer, football and baseball. The holidays and children's birthdays were always celebrated with family.
Jim's hobbies included photography, boating, fishing, coin collecting, and bird watching. Jim also owned several convertibles and enjoyed classic cars. Jim enjoyed watching the Cubs, Bulls, Hawks and especially the Bears games with the family.
Jim was a dedicated and loving father and husband. Jim is survived by his wife Patricia, his children Valerie and James, his mother Katherine Yates, and his sisters Kris and Heidi.
Jim was diagnosed with cancer in 2010, and was undergoing medical treatment for several years. In January 2016 the cancer worsened and lead to several visits to the hospital prior to his passing.
A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, July, 11, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton. A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at the
First Presbyterian Church in Wheaton
from 1:00 to 4:00 PM with a service from 2:00 to 2:45 PM.
