Obituary

James E Bollweg (Jim), age 62 died from this life to live a new life in glory with Jesus Christ, his creator and savior on July 6, 2024 at Temecula Hospital in California. He was born June 30, 1962 at Delnor Hospital in Saint Charles, and a hometown resident of Wheaton/Winfield Illinois. Jim began his education at Saint Michael's school of Wheaton and continued to Carl Sandberg, Monroe Middle School, and graduated from Wheaton North high school in 1980. His love and passion for music, arts, theater, and sports was evident early on.

He performed in high school musicals and played his guitar in hometown garages which harbored a dream of making it big in New York City, inspired by his idols, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones. Despite his father's insistence of completing his education, immediately after his graduation, he ventured to New York City with the support of his sister, Cindy and her friends. His rockstar pursuit was short lived after his guitar was stolen; he returned home and began a successful career with Merrill Lynch, discovering his talent for sales.

In 1988, he moved to Jonesboro Georgia to live with his sister Stacia and her husband Tony, who introduced him to the air freight and trucking industry. This led to the opening of his own franchise with Champion Transportation in Los Angeles in 1992.

In 2000, he moved to Stockbridge, Georgia upon marrying Susan Harden and becoming a step-father to Austin Frost. He became a member of the Eagles Landing Country Club, won (and lost) lots of money, played lots of golf, established valuable friendships, and they heard the words "Press!" and "JimmyTime" more times than they could count.

In 2008, he moved back to Southern California, and soon found his new home in Temecula, California. He remarried Eunika "Nika" Budiman, and raised his two beautiful daughters, Cindy & Chloe. He adored his daughters. They were the treasures of his heart. Jim would joke about not making sacrifices for anyone, yet he conquered every vice out of love for his family.

Jim was passionate about the Chicago Cubs, Broadway plays, world travel, the Rolling Stones, golf and playing his guitar. He had a remarkable presence that made him the life of any gathering. He had a knack for making an entrance, often lighting up a room with his larger than life personality, his loud and enthusiastic voice, and his quick sense of humor. Whether you knew him for 5 minutes or 62 years, Jim was truly unforgettable. Jim had a gift of making people laugh, feel important, and know they truly cared about.

Jim was great to so many. To know him was to love him. He treated everyone like his best friend, conversations with him were never dull, and he was always the best host or tour guide. He cared deeply for those in his life, and was always there if you needed him. He was generous, giving, empathetic, and always willing to help.

He is survived by his wife Eunika (Budiman) Bollweg, his daughters, Cynthia Nichole (15), Chloe Ann (14), his sister Stacia (Bollweg) Goodman, his brother Steve and (Therese) Bollweg. Also leaving behind many nieces and nephews who looked up to him as their big brother and the cool rockstar Uncle.

James was proceeded in death by his parents, Richard and Carole Bollweg. His sister Cindy, Cynthia (Bollweg) Miller.

Memorial Service/Celebration of Life will be held at Cantigny Park "Le Jardin" Friday, August 30, 2024 from 10 AM to 2 PM visitation 10 to 10:30.  Service immediately at 10:30 with adjoining celebration of life shared by family and friends.

We will treasure the time and memories shared with this unique, caring, tenderhearted, generous, hilarious, fun man. Jim could turn every day moments into an unforgettable experience, and we will miss him dearly. We are blessed by God and thankful to have known and shared experiences with such a unique and amazing man like Jim Bollweg. We thank you and appreciate the prayers, love and support you have shown us at this time. Though he left this world, he lives freely, at last!

Until we meet again…

"And I heard a loud voice from the throne of heaven saying, "Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away."
