Jacque C. Filiatreau, age 78, a resident of Wheaton, died Thursday, April 27 at the Central Du Page Hospital in Winfield. He was born on November 21, 1927 in Racine, Wisconsin to Leon and Mae Filiatreau.
During W.W.II Jacque served in the US Navy. He went on to graduate from Iowa State Teacher's College in Cedar Falls, Iowa. After teaching for a few years, he went to work for the Iowa Farm Bureau. In 1962 he moved his family to Wheaton and took a job with the National Live Stock and Meat Board in Chicago where he worked for 37 years.
He was an active member of the Kiwanis Club of Central Du Page and a 43 year member of the First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton where he served as a trustee and a deacon. He was a faithful volunteer for People's Resource Center and Share the Spirit. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and his many friends.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ethel, two children, Jay Filiatreau of Wheaton and Susan (Norman) Stozek of Greenfield, WI, three grandchildren, Benjamin, Elizabeth and Rebecca Stozek, and one great-grandson, Holden Anderson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Deborah, and sister, Hope Zimmerman.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 30th at 2:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton, Ellis and Jefferson St. in Wheaton.
