Jacqualyn "Jackie" Mardell Thar, age 65, a longtime resident of the Wheaton area, passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2023.  She was born July 17, 1957 in Moultrie, Georgia to Irma and Jack.

Jackie grew up Glen Ellyn, IL, where she graduated from Glenbard West High School.  She then worked at Pioneer Title Company where she met William "Bill" Thar. They were married in 1981 and raised their family in Winfield, IL, for the next 20 years. She was always involved in her children's schools, volunteered with the DuPage Animal Shelter, and was an active member of JOY Circle at Gary United Methodist Church.

She also had a passion for gardening, loved going to the beach, and enjoyed spending time with her best friend and family companion, Peanut.

She is survived by her devoted husband, William Robinson Thar, and two children, Audrey Mardell Thar and Mitchell Robinson Thar. She is also survived by Dennis (Susan) Ohlenkamp, Cynthia (Greg) Doerfler, and the late Angela Ohlenkamp, and her nieces and nephews, Ryan, Sarah, Patrick, Samantha, Sean, Joseph, Connor and the late, Madalyn, and her sister-in-laws, Anne (Kevin Cuff) Thar and Claudia Suchor. She was preceded in death by her father Harold Ohlenkamp.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, Wheaton, where a funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m.
