It is with a broken heart that I must announce the passing of my beloved son Jacob "Jake" Schultz.

He fought a 14-year battle with Huntington's Chorea that finally took him on July 22, 2025, Jake, my Christmas baby, was born December 25, 1992, to Jennifer Ann Schultz and Douglas Allen Schultz in Winfield IL. He was a beloved son, brother, grandson, grandnephew, nephew, cousin and friend with an infectious smile, contagious laugh and warm loving spirit.

Jake worked as a service clerk where his dedication, friendliness and kindness brought smiles to so many people, co-workers and customers alike. He was an avid video gamer and loved being competitive, creating lasting bonds with many friends over the years. He found joy in nature; walking in the rain, camping and watching fireworks light up the night sky.

In addition to his love of nature he also had a passion for animals. It was evident in his love for all creatures great and small. From his gerbils to his brothers' snakes he appreciated their unique qualities and was always unafraid to touch, hug, kiss and just love on all types of animals.

Unquestionably his favorites were dogs! Chole being his most cherished companion. His ultimate life goal was to "pet all the dogs" he met!!

To honor Jake's vibrant personality, we would like to invite everyone to wear colorful, fun and quirky clothing to his celebration, (even just a silly pin, hat, tie or scarf) to celebrate the joy and laughter he brought to our lives.

Jake is survived by his Mother, Jennifer Ann Schultz, his Brother, Steven Douglas Schultz, (Michele Tiberi). Grandfather Richard Karwowski. Grandparents; Ronald and June Walker. Grand Uncles; John Nardulli and Peter Nardulli (Tien). Grand Aunts; Janet Cartwright (Jeff) and Mary Jordan. Aunts; Tina Passantino (Matt), Kate Rogers (Josh), Ronda Nelson (Kevin), Laura Ashley (Paul). Uncle; Jim Walker (Lisa), Cousins; Kayla Jaeger (Dan and their children Kaleb and Everly), Dylan Passantino, Alex, Nick and Jenna Best, Cherish and Robin Jordan, Rex and Mitch Nelson, Britta Portillo, Reagan Lowery, Riley Andrews, Zac and Sam Walker and many other extended family and friends. We most definitely cannot forget his beloved pup Chloe!! We will all forever hold him in our hearts. His memory will live on in the stories we share, and the moments cherished by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his Father Douglas Schultz, Grandmother Cathy Karwowski, Aunt Ann Nardulli, and his Uncle Rick Jordan.

A Celebration of Jake's life will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm with a memorial service at 4:00 pm at Hultgren Funeral Home, 565 Randy Road, Carol Stream, IL, 60188. In lieu of flowers please considering donating to Anderson Animal Shelter in honor of Jake's love of animals.

Refreshments for close friends and family will be available after the service.
