Rev. Jack F. Macdonald's Obituary
Jack F. MacDonald, of Windsor Park Retirement Community in Carol Stream, IL, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, March 19, 2016. He was born June 30,1924 in Rockford, IL.
A graduate of Philadelphia Bible Institute (Class of 1945) and Wheaton College (Class of 1949), Rev. MacDonald served as pastor of Grace Bible Church in Elmhurst from 1947 until 1955 when he went to Venezuela as a missionary with The Evangelical Alliance Mission. He retired from TEAM in 1992 and returned to Grace as Missions pastor and Keenagers coordinator until he retired once again in 2002. Rev. MacDonald enjoyed woodworking, camping, fishing, traveling, writing newsletters, creating new recipes and music — particularly singing and playing hymns.
He is survived by his wife of more than 70 years, Miriam May MacDonald; by his four children, Mary Lynn, Phil, Beth, and Paul and their spouses; 11 grandchildren; six grandchildren-in-law; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marion and Geraldine; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest A. and Gladys West MacDonald.
Visitation will be held at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 North Main Street Wheaton, IL from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2016. A memorial service will be held in the auditorium of Windsor Park Retirement Community , 124 Windsor Park Drive, Carol Stream, IL 60188 at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2016.
A private interment at Arlington Cemetery in Elmhurst, IL will be held with family members.
In lieu of flowers, family and friends are requested to consider memorials to Wheaton College , 501 College Ave, Wheaton, IL 60187; or to the Windsor Park Benevolent Fund , 124 Windsor Park D, Carol Stream, IL 60188.
