Obituary

Jack Faulkner, age 99, a resident of the Holmstad in Batavia, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, August 17 at home. He was born August 16, 1913 in Chillicothe, MO to W. Frank and Veva Fern Faulkner.

Jack grew up in Champaign, IL where he met Grace Shanks. They were married on April 10, 1938. During WWII he served in the Army Air Corp. In 1945 they moved to Wheaton, where Jack began work at Wheaton College, where he served as treasurer for many years. During this time he served on the Board of Directors at Gary-Wheaton Bank. He was also a past president of the Illinois - Wisconsin Group of the National Educational Buyers; a founder, past president and director of the Midwest Association of Business Administrators of Christian Colleges; and a member of the National Association of College and University Busiess Officers. In retirement, they lived for 38 years in Eureka Springs, AR.

His faith was important to him and he was very much a part of his local churches including Bethany Chapel in Wheaton, IL, Lone Star Bible Church in Eureka Springs, AR, and Warrenville Bible Chapel in Warrenville, IL.

He belonged to the Wheaton Rotary Club for many years. In Eureka Springs he served as the Ambulance District Commissioner and Secretary-Treasurer, and the Buck Mountain Subordinate Service District Secretary-Treasurer and spent many years as an Elder of the Lone Star Bible Church.

Jack is survived by four children, Michael (Caryne) Faulkner of Oswego, IL, Peter (Suzanne) Faulkner of Delavan, IL, Barbara Guthrie of Batavia, IL, and Kathryn Daniels of Downers Grove, IL; his son-in-law, Fred Mahnesmith of Buda, IL, 12 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Frances Larson, two brothers, John Faulkner and Robert Faulkner; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Grace in 2009, one daughter Robin Mahnesmith in 2010, and four brothers.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, September 1, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of a memorial service to be held at 11:00 A.M. at Warrenville Bible Chapel, 4S157 Curtis Ave, in Warrenville. Interment is private at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
