Jack Earl Ades, most recently of Elburn, died January 27, 2017 at Symphony of Orchard Valley in Aurora. He was born on May 8, 1935 in Chicago to Jack Elvan Ades and Jeanne Thone.
Upon discharge from the Navy, Jack married Coriene Winkler on October 27, 1962, as he told it, after seeing "that skirt float by" while roller-skating several months earlier. Together they raised five children after purchasing their first home in Addison, IL.
Over the years Jack enjoyed a variety of activities. He started bowling during his teen years achieving several perfect games and a few dollars along the way. He continued bowling until several years ago when his back said no more. While living in Addison, he took up hockey. Sometimes skating in a league at the Elmhurst YMCA or sometimes skating on Salt Creek. Skate time at the "Y" was always late at night and it was a great treat when the kids got to come along - probably more for them than him. Somewhere along the line he starting riding motorcycles again, a mode of transportation abandoned during the small child years. Eventually Jack worked up to his pride and joy Honda Gold Wing complete with trailer for his golf clubs. It took some work, but on occasion he even convinced Coriene to ride with him. Jack was an early adopter of computers, although they drove him crazy. He organized schedules, prepared shopping lists, used spreadsheets to keep track of EVERYTHING and played several games. Jack's next passion was golf. Several days a week, rain or shine, hot or cold.
Jack's mind was of a mathematician which suited him well as years of an electrician with Motorola. But just like math, there was rarely a straight line or simple answer to anything. If you weren't ready for the apples versus oranges explanation, you probably shouldn't have asked the question.
He is survived by daughters Doris (Gerald) Arno, Dawn Mathis and Brenda (Bill Ford) Ades and son, Bill Ades; grandchildren Erin Arno, Kelly (Seth Golden) Arno, April Arno, Jeff (Erin Smith) Ades, Jennifer Fazzi, B.J (Ginger) Ades, Sam (Megan) Ades, Christopher Mathis, Dominick Mathis, Shannon Mathis, Tyler Ford and Kristie Ford; great-grand children, Nina, Andy, Tony, Olivia, Connor, Brooke and Samantha.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Coriene Ades; daughter, Dorothy Ades and parents.
