Irwin D. Byers' Obituary
Irwin D. Byers, age 89, a resident of Warrenville, IL, died Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL. He was born June 24, 1924 in Villa Park, IL.
He enjoyed restoring classic Indian motorcycles with his son Alan. He also loved spending time with his family at the family cottage. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church for over 60 years where he served as Treasurer on the Council. He was also a member of a Monday night bowling league for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Cathy; his three children, Judy Greco of Wheaton, IL, David (Nelda) Byers of Warrenville, IL, and Alan Byers of Warrenville, IL; four grandchildren, Ann (Trent) Byrne, Mary (Chris) Chaney, David Byers and Caroline Greco; and three great-grandchildren, Aidan Byrne, McKenna Byrne and Rosalie Chaney.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Henry Byers.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2014 from 3-6 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton, IL. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 17, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3S460 Curtis Ave., Warrenville, IL 60555. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Gardens West in Oakbrook Terrace, IL.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church at the address above.
