Irene Thomas, age 84, a resident of Glen Ellyn Countryside since 1953, died Monday, March 23, at home.

Mrs. Thomas was born on January 15, 1925 in Chicago to Carl and Iris Danielson. She was an active participant at the Bloomingdale Township Senior Center, where she was a member of the BT Stompers.

She is survived by one daughter, Karen (Ron) Schwieters of Montgomery, two sons, William C. (Cathy) Thomas of Arizona, and Lawrence (Dorice) Thomas of West Chicago, 10 grandchildren, Chuck (Sherri) Guiborat, Dan (Janice) Guiborat, Jeffrey(Bettina Hamilton) Guiborat, Jordan (Rachelle) Thomas, Brielle Thomas, Kerstin Thomas, Evan Thomas, Eric Thomas, Matthew Thomas, and Adam Thomas, 4 great-grandchildren, Alex, Katie, Miles and Max Guiborat, many nieces and nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband William W. Thomas and her parents.

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 27, from 4 until 8 p.m. at the Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton. A graveside service will take place at Wheaton Cemetery on Saturday, at 11:00 a.m., leaving from the funeral home at 10:45.
