Irene Melvina Stole, nee Wall, age 91, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, December 12, 2008 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She was born on February 5, 1917 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Swedish immigrant parents, Oscar and Julia (Svenson) Wall.
Irene resided in Deerfield, Illinois for forty years before moving to Windsor Park Manor in Carol Stream, Illinois. In March 2001, Irene moved to the Covenant Village of the Great Lakes, Grand Rapids, Michigan to be near her daughter and family.
Irene is survived by her daughter, Shirley(Howard) Hillman of Grand Rapids, Michigan; and grand-daughter, Stacy Davies; and many nieces and nephews both in the United States and Norway.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bjarne Stole, in 1975, parents, Oscar and Julia Wall and brothers, Gunnar, Harry and Chester Wall.
Irene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She touched many lives with her gifts of service and hospitality.
A celebration of Irene's life will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Wheaton Bible Church, 27w500 North Avenue, in West Chicago, IL. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
