Hulda T. Griffin (Taub), age 102, passed away at her home in Wheaton, Illinois, on October 18, 2026. She lived a remarkable life filled with love, adventure, creativity, and an enduring passion for life.

Born in Gary, Indiana, Hulda graduated from Tolleston High School in 1943. After her high school sweetheart, Ken, returned from serving in World War II, they married in 1947. Together, they raised four children and eventually moved to Portage, Indiana, creating countless cherished family memories. In retirement, they shared a passion for travel, exploring all corners of the world.

A gifted seamstress and crafter, Hulda could make just about anything imaginable. An accomplished gardener, she transformed her backyard into a beautiful sanctuary. Her creativity and compassion extended to volunteering, including sewing kimonos and knitting caps for premature babies at Northwestern Hospital, making teddy bear outfits that police officers gave to children found at crash sites to offer comfort, and donating hundreds of handmade quilts to her church.

Hulda's greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren. She delighted in creating magical moments and cherished memories that will live on for generations. After Ken's passing in 2001, she moved to Bloomingdale, Illinois, and later, in 2013, to Wyndemere Senior Community in Wheaton. There, she became a beloved presence, participating in nearly every activity, including the choir and Bell's troupe. Her commitment to healthy living, positive attitude, and zest for life inspired everyone around her.

Hulda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth; her daughter, Tracy; her sisters, Adele and Lilian; and her brother, Hans.

She is survived by her children Kenneth (Joellen) of Miller Beach, Indiana; Keith (Michelle) of Ogden Dunes, Indiana; and Leslie (Charles Klapp) of Winfield, Illinois; and her grandchildren Kelly Griffin, Melanie Griffin, Natalie Griffin, Griffin Klapp, and Matt, Kevin, and Beth Milletary.

Hulda will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, creative hands, generous heart, and unwavering joy in life. Her legacy lives on in the family she cherished and the countless lives she touched.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 15, 2026, at Wyndemere Senior Community, 200 Wyndemere Circle, Wheaton, Illinois. From 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and reflect on Hulda's life through photographs spanning the years. At 11:00 a.m., the family will share special memories in her honor.
