Obituary

Hubert A. Tucker, Jr., age 88, a longtime resident of St. Charles, formerly of West Chicago and Oakwood, IL, died Friday, May 11 at Lexington Health Care in Bloomingdale, IL. He was born July 10, 1929 in Griggsville, IL.

Mr. Tucker worked at General Electric in Danville, IL working a punch press for 30 years before retiring. He then moved to Chicago with his late wife, Betty. He worked as a union carpenter for T.N.T. Construction of Carol Stream, IL from 1976 until 1991 when he again retired. He enjoyed woodworking and made many small projects and pieces of furniture for his friends and family. He was known for his toothless grin and bib overalls. He had a very dry sense of humor which stayed with him his entire life. He loved to say, "Smile" and flash his toothless grin.

He is survived by his two children, Sandra Johnson of Reisterstown, MD, and Jim (Sandy) Tucker of Venice, FL; three grandchildren, Anne Marie (Mark) Scimonelli, Jackie Johnson, and Natalie Tucker; one great-grandchild, Connor Scimonelli; and a sister, Leona (Oren) Wilcox of Santa Maria, CA and his adopted "daughter" and caregiver, Pam (Jim) Hager of Bloomingdale, IL.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Tucker and his parents, Hubert A. Tucker, Sr. and Marie Durbin Tucker.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 15 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main Street, Wheaton, IL. Interment will be on Wednesday, May 16 at 1:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville, IL.
