Howard F. Bedell , 98, of Wheaton, IL and formerly of Pottstown, PA, husband of the late of Irene (Albert) Bedell, died Friday at the home of his daughter in Wheaton, IL.

Born in Akron, OH, he was a son of the late Arthur and Edith (Gilson) Bedell. Mr. Bedell was employed as a steam press operator by the former Robinson Clay Products Co. Pottstown, working in Clearfield, PA for 14 years and retiring in 1977 after 47 years of service. He was a member of the First Church of the Brethren, Pottstown

Mr. Bedell is survived by two sons, Howard W. Bedell and his wife Judith A., Pottstown; Wilson E. Bedell, Pottstown; one daughter Sandra L. Bedell Gabel wife of Daryl Gabel, Wheaton, IL; nine grandchildren, Michael Bedell, Pottstown; Susan Bedell Babyak, Birdsboro; Gregory Bedell, Pottstown; Jeffery Bedell, Pottstown; Christopher Bedell, Tampa, FL; Bree Gabel Grayson, Channahon, IL; Brandon Gabel, Wheaton, IL; Bethany Gabel, Wheaton, IL; and Brogen Gabel, Wheaton, IL. 11 great grandchildren, Mallory, Morgan, Madison, and Michaela Bedell; Jill Bedell; Jade and Jack Bedell; Abigayle, Michael, and Zachary Grayson; and Jason Bauer. One great-great grandchild, Jayden Bauer. He was predeceased by one son Robert Lee Bedell.

Funeral services will be held 9:00 am on Friday September 10, 2010 from the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home & Crematory, 359 King St. Pottstown. Officiating will be Reverend Scott Major. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Pottstown. There will be a viewing from 8:30 am until 9:00 am on Friday at the funeral home.
