Hoan Luong, age 108, a long time resident of Wheaton and beloved  wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed Sunday, July 11, 2021.  She was born on June 12, 1913 in Zhongshan, China. In 1931,  Hoan married her husband, Co Van Trac in China, and later emigrated to Vietnam together and raised 6 children.  After her husband passed away, Hoan continued to live there until the fall of the country to Communist rule. She fled in 1979, seeking asylum as a refugee in the United States.

Together with her 4 adult children, she was resettled in the Wheaton area and has lived here for the past five decades. She would start everyday with a walk around the neighborhood with her signature hat and sunglasses. Hoan was an avid Mahjong player, enjoying the traditional Chinese game both at home during large family gatherings as well as at the Xilin Asian Community Center with her friends.

"Grandma" will be deeply missed as the matriarch of her family who adored her. She is survived by her two daughters, Linh Cam Lam & Linh Mong (Son) Lam & son Chieu  (Mai) Trac, 11 grandchildren, Kiet (Bihua)  & Bruce (Amy) Lam, Hong (Binh) Hua, Hoa (Chris) Monasterio, Van (Mark) Bilut, Chi (Brian) McCollum, Vi (Dana) Lam, Giao (Tony) Donohoe, David (Katie), Julie & Tom Trac & 16 great-grandchildren, Bruce & Brian Hua, Teresa & Brandon Lam, Grant & Makaylin Monasterio, Bryson & Brayden McCollum,  Alex & Isabella Lam, Carson & Colton Bilut & Natalie, Brendan, Madison & MacKenzie Trac.

She was preceded in death by her husband Co Van Trac; first born son, daughter Linh Wan Trac, son Nghia Trac, daughter in law Mary Trac & son in law Giao Lam.
