Hilde G. Osenberg, age 85, a resident of Glen Ellyn, IL died on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, IL. She was born on November 2, 1927, in Poland.

Hilde was an avid orchid grower, gardener, baker, and cook. Her meals and desserts were enjoyed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other family and friends. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Lombard, IL where she volunteered for many years in the nursery during Bible studies and for Vacation Bible School.

She is survived by her son, David (Dawn); her daughters, Kathy (Roger), Jane (Jim), Sharon, and Donna (Mark); eleven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Hilde is also survived by sisters, Elli and Edith in Poland, Camilla in Germany; sister-in-law, Lois Marten; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Louis; and her brother Edwin.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 19, from 4-8 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton, IL. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 20, at 10 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, 21W500 Butterfield Rd, Lombard, IL 60148, with Rev. Marty Hufford officiating. Interment will take place at Elm Lawn Cemetery in Elmhurst, IL.
